SAIL FAQS
How and when do I sign up for online courses?
The District's online school, which offers free courses, is SAIL (Surrey Academy of Innovative Learning). You can sign up for online courses at Welcome to SAIL (sailacademy.ca). Please note that you need to have your PEN number on hand for registration. You can find this number on any report card, on MyEd, or on your student ID card.
Is it a good idea for me to take a course at SAIL?
Online courses can be challenging for some as you will have to read through written material/ watch videos and teach yourself the course. Motivation and discipline are needed to complete online courses. Please also note that some courses and some teachers require you to go in person to write some assessments, so the course may not be 100% online. For other students, the flexibility of online courses works very well, and can be a great option. Please see your counsellor for more details as needed.
